Anniversaries And Privileges

I’ve been thinking about the very best part of today.

It’s anniversary day here on the blog and, wouldn’t you know it, International Star Wars Day too, and to add to all the fun and celebration there’s a giveaway at the end of this post running all week and that’s just a lot of goodness, don’t you think?

On Anniversaries and Privileges

Besides a special book, there might be other goodies in the giveaway package too. Can you say Canada’s best chocolate, amongst other little tidbits.

Such a fun way for me to get a chance to celebrate with you all. I’d hand deliver it to your door myself if I could.

But when I think about the best part of having a second blogiversary at all, this really all boils down to privilege.

Gosh I love serving all of you, my friends across space and time, with this blog.

I can’t tell you how much.

And more importantly, with the words He continually inspires and orchestrates for His amazing glory.

It has and continues to be the best and most delightful privilege. Click To Tweet

It has been and continues in the new season, the best and most delightful privilege. And a celebration of Him and His faithfulness.

The best journey in His presence. The hardest and best giving of myself but as His vessel, shaped and  poured into. My fish and bread that He chooses to multiply for His purposes.

Lord? Just…. wow. You alone have done great things.

I consider it a great privilege that He uses my words at all.

I consider it a great privilege that you come here week by week, during your busy days, and fellowship with me through all the hard things, too.

Hence, this week-long celebration. This week-long thank you.

Where do I start to tell you how grateful I am for you all?

Together we’ve shared, cried, emailed, encouraged, reached out, prayed for, prayed over, and celebrated.

Maybe this whole post sounds indulgent? But guys. We’ve done this together for two years!

I dare not look such a gift in the face and not acknowledge His stamp on it all.

“Now it is God who establishes both us and you in Christ. He anointed us, placed His seal (stamp of ownership) on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a pledge of what is to come.” 2 Corinthians 1:22

This idea of grateful privilege that surges for me today? It is because of two very important things we find in this scripture from Paul, that are bestowed on us by God when He commits to pave the way through His will for us.

First? That seal, that holy stamp of ownership comes from the word sphragis; to stamp for security or preservation. Wow. When we step out into our calling under His direction, we are not just given a seal of approval, but this stamp of ownership implies being under His guardianship! His protection! And it’s a promise of preservation.

That’s such a jewel of a holy truth right there, friends.

And second? His pledge of the Spirit over us. In trying to fathom that particular gift of answering His call, I looked up the Hebrew word for purchase; arrabona. It means bought-for, purchase-price, complete payment, payment given as security and a promise of deliverance.

SOMEONE lift a hallelujah!

This has been a two-year privilege to serve Him because of how He has sealed and secured this whole journey every step of the way. The hard days. The rough patches. The battles. The chronic D.  And all the good (and there’s been SO much good).

Orchestrated and sanctioned by the Holy Father Creator King.

And I love that He has already decided what to do with any of this, what is coming next, and that I have the great privilege to obey.

This is so much more than just my pithy little anniversary in my corner of the internet.

I realise it’s an anniversary of His moulding, my saying yes, and His great plan bigger than anything I can see from here.

An anniversary of trust, of clinging, of hiding in Him, of stepping into.

Will you come with me into the next season? Gosh, I hope so.

Can’t wait to see what He will accomplish next.
